What the parameter field is used for?

(After setting the AppName for your shortcut, click on "Parameter" button to see how to set parameters)

Some applications selected in ShortcutMe accept input parameters. Parameter field is used for those applications. Applications that accept in input parameter are as follows:

What is the format used for parameter field?

(All examples here are embedded in ShortcutMe V3.5 and later. You can access them either by selecting "Show Examples" menu option in shortcut setup pages, or by clicking the button called "Set Parameter ..." or "Parameter" when you are adding/editing a shortcut in ShortcutMe )

Examples for how to set parameter field:

** Browser parameter: www.google.com

** Browser_BIS parameter: www.google.com

** Browser_WiFi parameter: www.google.com

** Browser_WAP parameter: www.google.com

** Msg_PIN parameter: 20FFFFFF

** Msg_SMS parameter: (1 800) 000 - 0000

** Msg_Email parameter: xx@gmail.com

** Call parameter: (1 800) 000 - 0000

** MediaFile parameter: SDCard/BlackBerry/pictures/sandy.jpg

** Maps parameter: 4000000;-8000000;MyLocation

** Weather parameter: USNY0176;USCA0638;USCA0638;USCA0638
Format: p1;p2;p3;p4 (1 or more city code separated with ; )
p: City code.
Go to 'http://weather.yahoo.com/' to find your city code. When you see the weather for your city, p is the 8 digits code in the internet link for that page

** StocksOverview parameter: BAC;JPM;cll.to
Format: t1;t2;t3;... (1 or more stock ticker found on finance.yahoo.com separated with ; )

** Screenshot parameter: 60 or 60;1 or 60;1;3000
Format: [X;S;DELAY]
X: A value between 10 and 100, 100 being best quality for the image
S: set to 1 to capture shortcutme's own main screen
DELAY: Delay in mS before taking the screenshot

** FileLauncher parameter: SDCard/1.mp3

** FolderShortcut parameter: SDCard/BlackBerry

** GPS_Config parameter: 2;8 or 2;8;1500 or 2;8;1500;500
Format Y1;Y2 [;DELAY;DELAY2]
Y1: 'AdvanceOptions' position from top of the option page.
Y2: Position of the 'GPS' in 'AdvanceOptions' page.
DELAY,DELAY2: Delay in mS before attempting to open subpage

** Options_Sub2Page parameter: 2;8 or 2;8;1500 or 2;8;1500;500
Format Y1;Y2 [;DELAY;DELAY2]
Y1: Subpage position from top of the option page.
Y2: Position of the sub-subpage in subpage.
DELAY,DELAY2: Delay in mS before attempting to open subpage

** Options_SubPage parameter: 2 or 2;1000 or 2;1000;500
Format Y[;DELAY;DELAY2]
Y: Position of the page name from top of the option page.
DELAY,DELAY2: Delay in mS before attempting to open subpage

** Bluetooth_Toggle parameter: 5;3 or 5;3;1500 or 5;3;1500;600
Format Y1;Y2[;DELAY;DELAY2]
Y1: Position of the 'Bluetooth' from top of the option page.
Y2: Position of the 'Enable/Disable' in menu of Bluetooth page.
DELAY,DELAY2: Delay in mS before attempting to open Bluetooth page

If you see that toggling BT is not always successful and that a wrong menu item is picked, try increasing the delay times by 100mS. If you see that it takes long time to toggle BT, reduce the delay values with 100mS.

** Profile_Selector parameter: 3 or 3;1000
Format Y1[;DELAY]
Y1: Position of the requested profile from top of the profile page.
DELAY: Delay in mS before attempting to select a profile

** Gmail_Menu parameter: 14 or 14;1500 or 14;1500;400
Format Y[;DELAY;DELAY2]
Y: Position of the intended Menu item (from top) in Gmail's main page menu option page.
DELAY: Delay in mS before attempting to open Menu
DELAY2: Delay between navigation simulation (400-1000)

I set the parameter correctly but ShortcutMe doesn't do what it supposed to do. Why?

You need to set all permissions for ShortcutMe to Allow. This can be done as follows:
- Go to 'BB Home Screen>Options>Advance Options>Applications'
- Find and select ShortcutMe
- Press Menu key (BB Key) and select "Edit permission"
- Sett all to Allow and save.
